Anson K. Chu, DPM, is a fellowship-trained, board certified foot and ankle surgeon serving patients in Richmond, Virginia, at Richmond Orthopedic Institute. He has a strong interest in foot and ankle arthritis, fractures, sports injuries, and regenerative medicine.

Dr. Chu was raised in Plano, Texas, and obtained his BA in Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas. His passion for patient care was developed while attending podiatric medical school at Rosalind Franklin University, where he graduated as a member of the Pi Delta Honors Society. He went on to complete a comprehensive surgical residency program at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. During his time there, he had the privilege to train under renowned foot and ankle surgeons at the Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Chu completed his fellowship in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery at Coordinated Health-Lehigh Valley in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This fellowship focused on primary and revision total ankle replacement, trauma, and acquired deformities. During his fellowship, he treated foot and ankle injuries in Lehigh University athletes of all sports.

Patient care is of the utmost importance to Dr. Chu. He is committed to finding the best treatment plan suited for each patient and exhausting all conservative measures before surgical intervention. He is dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest foot and ankle research in order to find the best approach to fit the lifestyle goals of his patients.
